Gowanda man facing lewdness charges after fight

GOWANDA --- A Gowanda man is facing public lewdness charges after a reported fight on Saturday in the village. On Saturday, Troopers out of the State Police at Collins charged Benjamin M. Cole, 32 with first-degree public lewdness and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. At 8:36 p.m., troopers responded to the incident on South Water Street. Collins man, 23, dies in motorcycle crash

COLLINS --- Erie County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in the town, Sheriff John Garcia said Sunday. At 5:01 p.m. Saturday, dispatchers received a 911 call from the area of 4320 Gowanda Zoar Road. The caller stated there was a great deal of motorcycle debris in the road. Patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon patrol’s arrival, witnesses on scene directed him to an area off the shoulder of the roadway where both the operator and his motorcycle were subsequently found. Ripley man injured after being hit by train

RIPLEY --- A town resident escaped serious injury after being struck by a train Saturday evening. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded with the Ripley Fire Department and New York State Police to a reported train-versus-pedestrian incident around 9:20 p.m. It was reported the pedestrian attempted to cross the tracks before the train crossed which resulted in the pedestrian being struck. A Forestville resident is facing charges after an altercation from last month. At roughly 09:30 a.m. Thursday, deputies of the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and members of the Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office conducted an ongoing investigation in Forestville, regarding a past-tense altercation that had occurred on May 6 in the town Of Sheridan. Crews respond to vehicle, bicycle accident

The Fredonia Fire and Police Departments rolled to an apparent vehicle-bicycle accident around 3:08 p.m. Thursday. The accident happened near Main and Prospect streets. A male was seen on a stretcher, sitting up and talking to emergency services personnel.
