Connie Johnson running for Perrysburg Town Councilperson

Connie Johnson has worked for the community of Perrysburg in one capacity or another for 25 years and would continue to do so if elected to the town board.

Johnson is well read and keeps informed on current issues related to town functioning. She is organized and conscientious, a volunteer in the community, and an advocate for rights. Johnson says, “In my professional life, I spent much of my time delving into what a business needs and why, determining how people accomplish those things, and helping figure out ways to do things more effectively and efficiently. Isn’t that what a councilperson is supposed to do?”

Johnson retired from the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision after working at Gowanda CF. She worked with adults with developmental disabilities for 17 years prior to going to corrections from the DDSO. She is known to be an honest, hardworking person who works well with and for others.

She says, “My parents instilled in my siblings and I their deep commitment to volunteering and contributing to the many parts of the community that we live in, and leaving the world a better place than how we found it.”

As is obvious and is stated in the Town Law Manual, “Town Boards and Town Supervisors have been given important powers and responsibilities. Those responsibilities have increased over the years as the issues and problems facing our society have grown more complex.”

Johnson says, “We need leaders who will stand up and fight for the average family, leaders who will keep lines of communication open and use their resourcefulness and innovation not only to put out fires, but to prevent them from starting. Of course, a board member is limited or enhanced by the others on the town board, but having data to show when presenting an innovative solution to a problem is crucial to success.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
