Veterans Day ceremony planned for Applebee’s

Applebee’s of Dunkirk is hosting a Thank You Movement for all veterans and active duty military for their service to our great country on Veterans Day, this Sunday, which will begin around 11:30 a.m.

The Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council is hosting the Veterans Day Service.

The Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard and Members will be according Military Honors with flags, POW/MIA table ceremony, rifle volleys and taps. The welcome speech will be given by Jack Sievert, commander of the council. Master-of-ceremonies is John D’Agostino, OBSERVER publisher.

Principal guest speaker is Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas with principal speakers George Burns III, commander retired, U.S. Coast Guard; Lt. Christopher Wilson, U.S. Coast Guard Sea Partners Campaign, and David Adams, Chautauqua County Veterans Service Officer.

Tonia Piede will sing the National Anthem. Rhonda Daminski, past president VFW Auxiliary Chapter 1017, will conduct the POW/MIA Table Ceremony

Applebee’s will provide dinners for all veterans and active duty personnel.
