Agritourism Boot Camp to be held at JCC
Hugh McPherson, national agritourism expert, will lead an Agritourism Boot Camp on the Jamestown Campus of Jamestown Community College on Wednesday. The program hosted by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at JCC, will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m.
The day-long, interactive program is intended for existing and prospective agritourism entrepreneurs. Topics will include a goal planning session, a discovery session of real stories of entertainment agriculture, social media strategies and how to expand current business models. The program is designed to be a high-energy experience.
McPherson is a farm marketing consultant and successful farm marketer from southern York County, Pennsylvania. He has counseled agritourism entrepreneurs across the country on business plan development that has delivered entertainment to literally thousands of guests. His home farm, Maple Lawn Farms, welcomes guests to pick-their-own peaches, apples, pumpkins and blueberries. In 2015, Hugh launched Maple Lawn Winery to add value to his fruit crop and cultivate a new crop of guests.
