Gowanda announces commencement speaker

GOWANDA — The commencement speaker for the Class of 2019 ceremony at Gowanda High School is Stephen P. Miller, a 1986 graduate of GCS and a 1989 graduate of The State University of New York at Fredonia.

He was born at Tri County hospital in Gowanda and grew up in the house his parents still call home in Collins. He is married with four children and is expecting the addition of twin boys in August.

He resides in Corning and has worked for Corning Inc. for the past 24 years in a variety of finance and management roles. He is currently vice president of strategy.

He served the past four years as the president of the Chemung Valley Montessori School board of trustees and is on the board of the Clemens Center, a Broadway performance arts theater in Elmira, N.Y.
