Mary’s Deli of Dunkirk marked 40 years of service with a party Tuesday outside its Main Street store. The event acted as a food drive for the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry’s emergency food pantry. People who attended got a slice of pizza, a bottle of water and a popsicle in exchange for the donation of a canned food item. “You’re doing the work of God,” Mary’s Deli owner/manager Kevin Russo told one donor. Above, attendees listen to a guitarist. At right is the Rural Ministry box truck which stored the donations. The people next to the minivan had just donated several dozen cans.
