Phil Evans is guest speaker tonight at observatory

FREWSBURG — At 7:30 p.m. tonight, Aug. 21, the Martz-Kohl Observatory will welcome guest speaker Phil Evans. Phil is a long-time member of the observatory and is known for his fun and entertaining presentations that are suitable for all ages. Phil has a true enjoyment of astronomy and appreciates communicating with others who share a passion for space science.

Following the presentation, the observatory will be open for members and the public to tour the observatory and view the night sky, weather permitting. The observatory is located at 176 Robbin Hill Rd., Frewsburg. The Martz-Kohl Observatory is an all-volunteer, non-profit association [501(c)3] and does not charge for admission. A non-member donation of $5 per adult and $2 per child or student is appreciated.

The Martz-Kohl Observatory houses one of the largest public robotic telescopes in the Northeastern United States. On open observatory nights, the public is welcome to come and tour the facility. If the evening sky is clear, the telescopes will be used to view the celestial sphere. The observatory can be contacted at (716) 569-3689.
