WESTFIELD — A Silver Creek man is facing a sex offense charge.

According to the the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation was conducted by its Criminal Investigation Division into a report of suspicious situation. It was found that on June 6 an unknown time, 33-year-old Derek Smith, allegedly engaged in sexual acts with a juvenile victim.

Smith was arraigned in the Town of Westfield Court on Monday on the charge of second-degree sexual abuse.
