FORESTVILLE — J. Carter Knapp Post 953 celebrated the 100th anniversary of the American Legion Organization Oct. 4.

Guests of honor were descendants of former Forestville residents Roy and Evelyn Bie. Their son, William, had so many wonderful childhood memories of legion activities that he made a very generous monetary donation to the post upon his death recently. Commander Tom Halicki also recognized Betty Kuzora, a 65 year member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello was the guest speaker. He praised the legion members present for their continued efforts and dedication to serving the needs of veterans.
