State of Emergency extended in Cattaraugus County

Cattaraugus County has extended its State of Emergency that was declared on March 15 in response to coronavirus, which has been designated as a world-wide pandemic.

Travel related cases and community contact transmission of COVID-19 have been documented throughout New York state, and of particular concern, there are 13 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within Cattaraugus County to date.

The situation continues to rapidly evolve, and the threat of this virus is imminent to the citizens and visitors of Cattaraugus County. It is necessary that Cattaraugus County be proactive and fully prepared to deal with its effects.

All orders and directives issued pursuant to the March 15, State of Emergency Declaration shall continue and are hereby renewed.

Local emergency orders may be enacted subsequent to this declaration to protect life and property or to bring the emergency situation under control.

This State of Emergency Extension will remain in effect for a period not to exceed 30 days or until rescinded, whichever occurs first. This State of Emergency may be extended for additional periods not to exceed thirty days.

This State of Emergency Declaration Extension shall remain in effect until May 13.
