Dunkirk mayor proclaims Community Foundation Week

Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas has proclaimed the week of Nov. 12 to 18 as “Community Foundation Week.”

In a recent proclamation from City Hall Rosas states that “the citizens, institutions, and organizations of northern Chautauqua County, New York have historically benefited from the ongoing support of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation,”

He notes that for more than 34 years, the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation has made it possible for northern Chautauqua County citizens, businesses, and organizations to create permanent philanthropic resources for the current and future needs of this community.

The proclamation further reads that “the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation serves as the community resource for collective giving and is working every day to inspire philanthropy, improve the quality of life, strengthen nonprofits, foster collaboration and provide leadership in Chautauqua County.”

Rosas cites that the most significant ways to ensure a strong community, economic vitality, educational success, and effective community leadership is through the active presence of a community foundation that allows for local community-phased endowments; and together can build a stronger northern Chautauqua County and improve the future by creating community legacies to benefit all of New York.

Starting at $3.50/week.
