Polish dinner planned for Saturday in city

The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society wishes everyone a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving! When you have had your fill of turkey and all the trimmings and you just can’t deal with another turkey leftover, join us for a traditional Polish Dinner prepared and served by the folks from Babcia’s Pierogi of the Broadway Market!

Bobcia’s is owned and operated by George and Linda Lund and is located in Buffalo’s famous Broadway Market. They are at every award-winning festival in Western New York, including Blessed Mary Angela’s Polka Fest, the Erie County Fair, and at the Ellicott Fall Festival as well as the New York State Fair. But nothing can compare to Holy Week at the Broadway Market where they will serve over a quarter of a million pierogies in one week. As Linda will tell you, “You haven’t experienced anything until you work the kitchen preparing food for Good Friday at the Market ”.

The dinner will be at the Parish Social Center on Townsend Street on Saturday and is a drive-through dinner only, serving from noon to 3 p.m. The menu will include gloumbki, two Farmers Cheese Pierogies, Smoked Polish sausage with sweet and sour red cabbage, mashed potatoes, rye bread, butter and ice cream.

There are a limited number of tickets available and can be purchased at Big Rick’s on Lake Shore Drive East and the 4th Ward Deli on Doughty Street. Tickets are $15 each or 2 for $25. Czarnina will be available for $5 a pint.

The parish is pleased to welcome back Bobcia’s Pierogies and hope you enjoy their food and service and we hope to have them back for Polka Fest 2021!
