The annual “Blessing of the Grapes Mass” begins at 8:30 a.m., Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 165 Central Ave., Silver Creek. Growers can bring baskets of their grapes, samples of juices or wine prior to Mass to be blessed by Father Dan Fiebelkorn.

Book signing event

The Patterson Library, 40 S. Portage St., Westfield will host a book-signing with author Kristian Reiber from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. He will read three short selections from his new book “Dare to be Authentic Vol. 6 – Finding Your Purpose.” Reiber is a health and mindset coach.

1891 Fredonia Opera House Cinema Series

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will present the movie “The Lost Leonardo” at 7:30 p.m. It is the inside story behind the Salvator Mundi, the most expensive painting ever sold at $450 million, claimed to be a long-lost masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6.50 for Opera House members/seniors, $5 for students, and sold at the door only. At this time, ALL patrons are asked to wear masks when attending Opera House events.

Dunkirk Farmers’ Market

The Dunkirk Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Ruggles Street and Cliffstar Court at the Dunkirk Senior Center. It features local farmers and artisans.

Tops Brocton meeting

TOPS Brocton meets on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. for weigh-ins and 3:30 for the meeting at the Fellowship Church, 148 W. Main Street, Brocton. Everyone is welcome.

Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society Polish dinner

A traditional Polish dinner of pierogi, golumbki, kielbasa with red kapusta, mashed baby red potatoes and rye bread with butter will be held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Social Center, 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk. Babcia’s Pierogies will prepare the food. Social distancing will be practiced. There are 100 seats for indoor dining, or drive-through will be available. Tickets are available at Big Rick’s on Lake Shore Drive East or the 4th Ward Deli on Doughty Street for $15 each or two for $25.

Chautauqua County Genealogical Society meeting

The CCGS will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Cassadaga American Legion, 228 Maple Ave. Members will discuss their latest research. New members are welcome. COVID-19 restrictions will be observed.

Marijuana law community information meeting

A presentation about the New York state’s recent legalization of marijuana will take place in the Fredonia Opera House at 7 p.m. A question and answer period will follow.

Mayville Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market is held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mayville Village Park, at the traffic light at Route 394 and Route 430, Mayville. It features farmers and artisans, with special events TBA.

Dunkirk Elks Lodge bingo

Dunkirk Elks Lodge bingo will be held at Central Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission sales begin at 6 p.m. Games start at 7 p.m. Social distancing will be followed. Masks must be worn by those who are not fully vaccinated.

Firemen’s grounds, 24 Maple St, scales open at 10 a.m. pull starts at noon, $5 admission, $10 hitch fee, No alcohol allowed on grounds.

National Back to Church Sunday

This event, held locally at the First Baptist Church of Dunkirk, 876 Central Ave., begins at 9:30 a.m. with a worship service followed by food and fun on the front lawn. All food will be individually packaged to provide a health environment. All are welcome.
