Silver Creek announces remote learning for today

SILVER CREEK — Staffing shortages have forced an area school to remote learning for Friday.

In a notice on Facebook, the Silver Creek Central Schools announced the middle and high schools will be fully remote while the elementary school will operate as normal. The shift is not due to COVID-19.

“Students will follow their normal schedules via TEAMS as we did last year,” the notice said. “Work will be provided synchronously and/or asynchronously for your child’s schedule as it was last year depending on if your child’s teacher is present (Friday).”

The district noted career and technical students attending both LoGuidice and Carrier Center will be picked up at home and transported to and from the centers. Sports will operate as normal, including any scheduled games.

Silver Creek plans to return to in-person learning for secondary students on Monday.
