Four charged in grand-larceny theft in city
— Four individuals are facing charges after an incident on the Norfolk Southern tracks near Lucas Avenue in Dunkirk.
City police responded to a reported larceny in progress around 10 a.m. Thursday. Detectives observed four subjects enter railroad property and steal a large spool of wire valued at more than $1,000.
Patrol stopped the subjects’ vehicle a short distance later and identified the subjects as Samantha Rushforth, 27, Aron Sikes, 30, Juan Ortiz, 40, and Dakota Murphy, 26. The vehicle was towed and the stolen property was recovered. All four were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and trespass.
All four were issued appearance tickets and released.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
– MAYVILLE – Latrisha S. Mccarty, 54, of Clymer was charged Monday with being a fugitive from justice, for being wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police. She was taken into custody at Lakeside Park. When being taken into custody she allegedly had a quantity of methamphetamine and was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She is to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.
– STOCKTON – Joseph Linger, 30, of Stockton was charged Tuesday with trespassing, aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration and violation of state Department of Environmental Conservation. Deputies allege that Linger was on a property on Barnes Road to hunt without permission and also had hidden a shotgun on the property. Along with the trespassing charge, he was additionally charged with making vehicle and traffic violations. Linger is scheduled to appear in the Town of Stockton Court at a later date.

— Luis Rivera Hernandez, 35, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 9 and charged with petit larceny,
— Traiquane Nance, 34, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 10 and charged with inadequate stop lamps and inadequate directional signals.
— Gianna Gates, 27, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 11 and charged with petit larceny.
— Robert Horr, 51, of Mayville, was arrested May 11 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
— Miguel Fernandez-Gonzalez, 30, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 11 and charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault, third-degree criminal tampering, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
— Jonathan Velez-Hernandez, 45, no address listed, was arrested May 12 and charged with petit larceny.
— Nathan Hallstrom, 30, of Silver Creek, was arrested May 12 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating with suspended registration, and inadequate stop lamps.
— Josue Leon-Santos, no age listed, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 13 and charged with turning without a signal, failure to stop at a stop sign, inadequate plate lamps, turn, five window/windshield infractions and two plate infractions.
— Emanuel Lopez Berrios, 50, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 13 and charged with non-transparent side windows.
— Alex Colon Ruiz, 41, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 13 and charged with five counts of petit larceny.
— Joshua Jaffray, 30, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 13 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating with suspended registration, and unlicensed operation.
FREDONIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Xavier Rodriguez, 35, of Dunkirk, was arrested on a warrant May 1. He was also arrested May 12 and charged with petit larceny.
— Jarary Brown, 26, of Fredonia, was arrested May 1 and faces charges of third-degree robbery, aggravated criminal contempt, second-degree menacing, unlawful imprisonment, second-degree harassment and reckless endangerment.
— Jonathan Velez-Hernandez, 45, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 2 and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny.
— Trea Buchanan, 30, of Dunkirk, was picked up on a warrant May 2.
— Caillo McNevin, 20, of Caneadea, was arrested May 5 and charged with second-degree harassment.
— Juan Ortiz, 40, of Dunkirk, was arrested May 9 and charged with trespass.
— Carolee Galloway, 31, of Fredonia, was arrested May 11 and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
