Grape Belt Seniors highlight happenings

The Grape Belt Seniors recently enjoyed a potluck luncheon and the delicious food and friends who attended. They meet on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for their aerobics and weight class from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Fredonia. They also have Game Day on Fridays which gets larger every week. They will be announcing another Potluck in the near future. Members wishing to take part in their activities are welcome to become members at this time.

The scheduled trips inclde:

— Total Solar Eclipse is on Monday, April 8, going to Deer Run Winery in Geneseo and includes a luncheon buffet, wine tasting and a wine presentation, live entertainment…leaving at 9:00 AM and will return at 5:30 PM.

“Reverend Mother”, a comedy show at Studio B in Albion will be on May 23rd. Our first stop will be at Miller’s Bulk Foods & Bakery, then a lunch buffet at The Black North Inn. The show will follow and we’ll have a final stop at Oliver’s Candies. Leaving at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 6 p.m. — Thursday, June 27 the group is going to Spring Lake Winery at Varallo Vineyards in Lockport. There will be wine tastings and a tour of the vineyard, make a s’more and gift shop. We will have lunch which is included and top our afternoon off with fun-filled MUSIC BINGO, hosted by Buffalo’s favorite entertainer, Joel Dombrowski. Leaving at 9:30 AM and return at 5:30 PM.

— June 30 is the New York Yankees-Blue Jays game in Toronto. One hundred level seats in section 138 for a 1:37 p.m. game. Leaving at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 8 p.m. Must have a passport or enhanced license.

“Dam good trip” is July 16 and it goes to Mount Morris Dam with a presentation all about the Dam at the overlook, Visitor Center which offers interactive exhibits. Then there will be a drive to Letchworth State Park to enjoy lunch at the Glen Iris Inn and stop at the William Pryor Museum. A final stop will be in Piffard, the Abbey of the, home of the Cistercian Monks where we will have a chance to attend the 2 p.m. chant in the chapel which is amazing. Leaving at 8 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m.

— Aug. 1 is a “Cave of the Winds” tour with lunch at Top of the Falls restaurant. First stop will be at Kelly’s Country Store. Leaving at 9:30 a.m. and returning at 5:15 p.m.

“History & Art” will be Sept. 9 with a tour of Old Fort Niagara and Castellani Art Museum. Lunch is at Griffon Brewery & Gastropub with stunning riverfront views. Leaving at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 6 p.m.

“Spirits & Spirits” is an Autumn Halloween Tour that features a visit to a haunted 1882 Victorian funeral home. There also will be a gallery reading from an accomplished psychic. Along the way there will be tastings at two Chautauqua area wineries, plus a barbecue lunch. On board guide will be Buffalo’s own Joel Dombrowski. Leave at 10:30 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. Oct. 24.

“Rat Pack Holiday Show” at the Seneca Niagara Casino will be Dec. 3. Matinee show, $20. With Seneca Slot Dollars and $10 food. Must have a photo ID and bring a Players card if you have one. Leave at 9 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m.
