Arrest made in kidnapping attempt
GERRY – A Sinclairville resident has been arrested for allegedly assaulting someone attempting to kidnap them.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday at about 10 p.m. deputies responded to an address on Route 60 in the town of Gerry for a possible assault in progress. After investigation it is alleged that Robert Henry Jr., 47, did cause serious physical injury to the victim with a dangerous object.
It is also alleged that during this incident Henry did forcibly take property from the victim while attempting to kidnap that individual.
Henry was located a short time after this incident and taken into custody.
Henry was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and second-degree attempted kidnapping. He was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment in the county jail where he was held on $100,000 bail.
