JAMESTOWN — On Aug. 10, the Heron Farm and Event Center held their seventh annual Heron Trail Run 5K in memory of Dave McDonald. The money raised was donated to the Mental Health Association in Chautauqua County (MHA).

Representatives of the event recently presented a check for $2,700 to MHA Executive Director Michael Nordin.

“We are thrilled with this generous gift,” Nordin said. “With the need for our services being so great, help like this is really appreciated!”

Presenting the check at the Jamestown recovery center were Julie Rockcastle, owner of the Heron; Faith Graham, Heron Trail Run Race Director; and Jen Raines, Volunteer Coordinator for the Heron.

Raines is also a longtime volunteer at the MHA, where she leads the Recovery Yoga group on Monday evenings at 5:30. New participants are welcome to join the group at any time.
