Rotary announces possible $4,000 grant for nonprofit
The Rotary Club of Dunkirk-Fredonia has announced a potential $4,000 grant opportunity for a local nonprofit organization in Dunkirk, Forestville, Fredonia, or Silver Creek, contingent upon the Club’s receipt of a Rotary District 7090 Grant.
As part of Rotary International — a global service organization founded in 1905 by Paul Harris which is now comprised of more than 1.4 million members worldwide — Rotary is guided by the mission Service Above Self. Rotary members are known as “People of Action,” addressing pressing local and global needs through service, leadership, and collaboration.
The Rotary Club of Dunkirk-Fredonia is one of several Chautauqua County Clubs within Rotary District 7090 – which serves Southern Ontario and Western New York. Local Rotary clubs contribute tens of thousands of dollars annually through service projects, scholarships, community events, volunteer hours, and charitable initiatives that strengthen communities across the region.
This new grant opportunity provided by the local Rotary Club of Dunkirk-Fredonia and Rotary District 7090 must align with one or more of Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus:
— Promoting Peace
— Fighting Disease
— Providing Clean Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene
— Saving Mothers and Children
— Supporting Education
— Growing Local Economies
— Protecting the Environment
