JAMESTOWN — Three Jamestown residents face charges after children under their care were allegedly attacking other people, smashing windows out of a residence and interfering with police work early Wednesday morning. The charges come the same day Jamestown police reminded city residents through a social media post of the city's 10 p.m. curfew for those under 16 years of age to be off the streets. South Dayton voters reject dissolving village

SOUTH DAYTON - The village of South Dayton is here to stay --- for now at least. In a vote held Tuesday, 78 opposed the idea of dissolution while 55 were in favor. If residents in the village had approved the vote, all assets would have eventually been turned over to the town of Dayton. The failed vote means a dissolution process may not be initiated again for at least four years. There have been four successful village dissolutions in Cattaraugus County since 2009.
