South Dayton voters reject dissolving village

SOUTH DAYTON – The village of South Dayton is here to stay — for now at least.

In a vote held Tuesday, 78 opposed the idea of dissolution while 55 were in favor. If residents in the village had approved the vote, all assets would have eventually been turned over to the town of Dayton. The failed vote means a dissolution process may not be initiated again for at least four years.
