Lakeshore yard sale returning to fairgrounds

Last year’s Lakeshore Humane Society yard sale was held at the center in Dunkirk.

The Lakeshore Humane Society’s largest annual fundraiser is going back to the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds.

The group’s Giant Yard Sale will return to Floral Hall at the fairgrounds on Aug. 21 and 22. It will be the 16th annual sale.

Last year’s event was held in a tent at the Lakeshore Humane Society Adoption Center at 431 E. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk due to COVID-19 restrictions. It was shortened to one day and no outside donations of items were accepted.

This year, donated items will return.

“Looking ahead, individuals may want to consider setting aside gently used items they no longer need,” the Humane Society states. “Details about the drop-off of items will be announced in the coming weeks.”

The society asks that donated objects be in saleable condition. No large appliances, metal bed springs, magazines, encyclopedias, clothing (except shoes), or electronics (TVs, computer monitors, towers and printers) are allowed.
