Fredonia retains grant writer
Urban Vantage, LLC will continue to take care of Fredonia’s grant writing and grant administration, after the village Board of Trustees extended its contract by a year earlier this month.
The board voted unanimously to retain the Buffalo outfit, whose co-founder, Travis Gordon, has handled Fredonia grants for the past couple of years.
Fredonia’s board flirted with going in a different direction in December, before it gained four new members as a result of the November election.
There were resolutions on the table then to end the contract with Urban Vantage and hire village Treasurer Erlyssa LeBeau to write grants. She would have done it under contract for $5,000 a year.
However, those resolutions were pulled and the board never voted on them. Roger Britz, a trustee who was not re-elected, said then that the resolutions ultimately didn’t get the two sponsors required to put them up for a vote.
