A Silver Creek pierogi business still needs assistance, but appears to be on its way to recover financially. Last fall, the Chautauqua County Legislature transferred 12 Howard St. to the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency for $30,674, which was the amount owed in back taxes. That is the location of Barbie Crockski Pierogi. One of the owners had been dealing with some health issues and they fell behind on their taxes. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — CHAUTAUQUA — The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office was made aware of a vehicle complaint on Route 430 around 5 p.m. Friday. Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop and identified the operator to be Jack E. Wyant, 21, of Kennedy. Following an investigation, Wyant was found to be driving while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated DWI, DWI, speed in zone, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
