DRIVE-BY SHOOTING IN CITY, TWO NABBED IN FREDONIA

A drive-by shooting that apparently took place at 633 Leopard St. in Dunkirk has moved into Fredonia this morning.

The shooting occurred before 9 a.m. this morning. Those who are believed to have done the shooting headed on Central Avenue toward Fredonia. They allegedly ditched the vehicle and took off on foot.

At least two were nabbed on Eagle Street in the village. A third man is being searched for with a K-9 unit.

According to reports, the weapon was thrown out of vehicle and the alleged weapon was found in front near the Big Dipper on Central Avenue in the city.

In other developments, those responsible for the alleged shooting apparently left the red sedan with Pennsylvania plates in front of the Fredonia Post Office on Day Street. It has since been towed away from the scene.

Law enforcement searches for suspects in Fredonia on Friday morning.

Dunkirk police on Thursday were investigating a report of gun shots.

In a news release, city officers responded to a reports responding to the incident around 7:11 p.m. in the area of East Sixth Street and Park Avenue. Upon arrival, officers secured a scene and evidence was recovered.
