New Fredonia superintendent is introduced

Brad Zilliox

Fredonia Central School District’s new superintendent, Dr. Brad Zilliox, marked his first day and his first public debut on the school’s Facebook page Monday.

In a two-minute-long video, Zilliox said he looks forward to getting to know the district and its families.

“It is my honor to serve as superintendent and work together with you for the greater good of our students and district,” Zilliox said. “As I started to think about my first few weeks in the position, I have some priorities for myself as I get to know more about our district and become acclimated to my new surroundings. First I take great pride in bringing a positive attitude and energy to my job and our district on a daily basis.”

Zilliox noted that “positivity creates an atmosphere that builds morale and can be contagious within a district.”

“Next I also believe it to be important to be highly visible throughout the district,” he said. “I look forward to getting out and about in our buildings and seeing our students in action. While doing so, I hope that we might have a quick minute to say hello or touch base as time permits.”

Zilliox shared that during his time in education, he realized that any district is nothing more than a “collection of relationships,” and that the status of these relationships is what is needed to maximize potential.

“I hope that I have already begun to build positive professional working relationships with many stakeholders and I look to continue this effort over my time here in Fredonia,” Zilliox said. Lastly he thanked everybody who participated in the entry surveys that went out to everyone involved in and with the district. He is reviewing them and hopes the feedback will guide him in the right direction the school needs to go in next.

Starting at $3.50/week.
