Special to the OBSERVER

The Fredonia Central School District’s Wheelock Early Childhood Center held its third annual Back to School Jamboree in August for all students entering UPK and kindergarten.

There were over 25 community organizations, including United Way, Audubon, Chautauqua Children’s Gym, Cub Scouts, and Children’s Advocacy Program (CAP) in attendance, with gifts and information for families.

Basil Cars donated backpacks with school supplies. Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union provided pizza and water bottles, as well as a variety of give-ways for families. Kim Myers (Visions of Elegance Hair Salon) and Owen Schrantz (Tommy’s Barber Shop) provided free back-to-school haircuts for the students. The Fredonia Fire Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, and New York State Troopers were also in attendance, greeting students and families, and encouraging them to have a great school year.

Starting at $3.50/week.
