BENTLEY, Irene L.: Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock from the Laona United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mike Spell officiated. Honorary Bearer was her grandson, Michael Barresi. Active Bearers were her grandchildren, Matthew Bentley, Nicholas Brunecz, Jacob Brunecz, brother-in-law Donald Bentley Sr., nephews Daniel Bentley and James Goulding Interment followed in the Laona Cemetery. MANCUSO, Gillis J.: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 o’clock in St. Joseph Church in Fredonia (Please use side entrance). COLT, Wolcott R. “Cub”: Funeral Services were held on Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the Morse Funeral Home in Brocton, NY. The Rev. Larry Morrison officiated. Interment followed at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery. Full Military Honors were accorded by the American Legion John W. Dill Post 434 of Brocton, NY. At the conclusion of the service at the cemetery, the American Flag was presented to Cub’s wife Winifred by Chaplain Fran Lus. The Pall Bearers were Brandon Noftsker, Justin Woleben, Matthew Woleben, Daniel Noftsker, Steve McNamera and Tim Farnham.

SLIWA, Stanley J.: Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish St. Hyacinth’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated by the Rev. Matt M. Nycz and the Rev. Walter Werbicki. Bearers were Robert Nalepa, Eugene Levandoski, his grandsons, Nicholas Sliwa, Zachary Sliwa, Joseph Sliwa and son- in-law Andy LaCombe. The 1st Reading from the Old Testament was given by his daughter, Katherine Sliwa and the 2nd Reading from the New Testament was given by Paul Rushboldt. The General Intercessions were given by Sister Rachel Mikolajczak, CSSF. Gift Bearers were his granddaughters, Elizabeth Sliwa, Jordan Sliwa and great-granddaughter Carilene Sliwa. The Eulogy was given by his son, Stanley Sliwa with Words of Remembrance given by the Rev. Walter Werbicki. Interment followed in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery. The Pall was placed by William and Albert Dudzic and Fran Dudzic. Readings were by Kelly Stachowiak, Jeff Dudzic; general intercessions by Meghan Dudzic. Gift bearers were Erin and Emily Dudzic and a eulogy was given by Gail Dudzic. Pall bearers were Lenny Stachowiak, Jeff, Jason, Ryan, Kyle and Jacob Dudzic. Entombment was in the Assumption Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military Honors were accorded by Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council with Chaplain Sandra Tapasto, Colors Bearers David Taber, Ben Rechlin, Eduardo Perez, Rifle Squad Sgt. Robert Mleczko, Rifle Squad members David Huels, Kenneth DeLong, Edziu Kaus, Brian Schneider, Thomas Rugani. Bugler Ronald Kulpa sounded last call and Commander Richard Makuch presented the flag to the son William Dudzic. Arrangements were by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk.

WOODS, Donald L. Sr.: Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning April 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the Portland Congregational Church in Portland, New York. The Rev. Gorden Spiller officiated. Eulogies in his memory were given by his granddaughters Lindzey and Leeza (Gert) Woods and also by Eleanor Oliver from the Congregational Church. Full Military Honors were accorded by The American Legion John W Dill Post 434 of Brocton. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the American Flag was presented to Donald’s granddaughter Leeza (Gert) Woods by Chaplain Fran Lus. The pallbearers were Kevin Blanch, Francisco DeJesus, Bob Parment, Justin Parment, Dave McIntyre and Herb McIntyre. Funeral arrangements were conducted by the Morse Funeral Home of Brocton, NY.
