Paul A. Erwin, 83, of Silver Creek, NY passed away Wednesday morning June 27, 2018 at the Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. He was born in Dunkirk, NY on August 2, 1934, the son of the late Walter and Thelma (Blakesly) Erwin. He married Joanne VanGiesen on December 23, 1955 in Ripley, NY.Surviving are his wife of 62 years Joanne Erwin; two daughters Stacy Erwin of Silver Creek and Sherri (Frank) Giambra of Forestville, NY; two grandchildren: Nichole ( Michael Murphy) Erwin and Ashlee

(Keith) Budziszewski; two great grandchildren: Morgan and Aiden Murphy; a

brother James Erwin of Silver Creek; also survived by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Erwin.Paul was a 1952 graduate of Sherman High School. He was a member of the U.S. Army, receiving a good conduct medal for his exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity during

the time he served. He retired from Ford Motor Co. after 35 years of service. Paul started in the apprentice electrician program and finished as the plant engineering manager.Paul enjoyed the outdoors and belonged to the Sunset Drifters Snowmobile Club, where he was the current treasurer and a former president, joining in 1972. He loved cars, especially his red corvette. He built a Thunderbird kit car from scratch. He liked to garden and to do yard work. He was very meticulous and proud of his lawn. In his younger years he played a lot of golf and was an avid reader. Most of all Paul was a devoted husband, a dedicated father and grandfather. He also

loved his two Siamese cats, Sadie and Jezzebell and his Great Dane, Beauredard, he had a long time ago.Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek on Monday July 2, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery.To share a condolence or remembrance with Paul’s family go to www.holeparkerfc.com.
