Jean A. "Grandma Jean" Dalrymple

Jean A. ” Grandma Jean” Dalrymple, 87, of Silver Creek, NY passed away Friday evening October 5, 2018 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk, NY.

She was born in Buffalo, NY on May 19, 1931, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Restivo) Mossman. On June 24, 1962, she married Donald K. Dalrymple at the First United Presbyterian Church ,Silver Creek.

Jean is survived by a daughter, Joyce ( Edward) Boedo of Silver Creek; a son, Scott ( Jennifer) Dalrymple of Watertown ,NY; a stepson, D.K. Dalrymple of Norman , Oklahoma; a brother, Robert (Angela) Mossman of Elma,NY; extended family, Lenny(Laura) Vetter, Jim (Kathy) Vetter, Barb (Rich) Van Rensealar and Arnie (Yvonne) Hilliker; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Donald K. Dalrymple, a daughter, Pandora Dalrymple and a grandson Michael Boedo.

Jean was a graduate of Kensington High School, “Class of 1949” she worked a variety of jobs, her favorite one was being a lunch monitor at Silver Creek Central School, she loved it! She was known for her work ethic, she picked tomatoes, tied and picked grapes, also was a bartender and waitress at the Sportsman and Sunset Inn.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Silver Creek.

Jean enjoyed reading, crocheting and sitting on her front porch, in her younger years she liked to bowl and go to the lake.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel 160 Central Ave. Silver Creek on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Wednesday October 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Silver Creek, Fr. Daniel Fiebelkorn will officiate. Committal will be at the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Center.
