GOWANDA — Carol A. Orth age 85 of Chestnut Street passed away Thursday Jan. 10, 2019 at Elderwood of Hamburg surrounded by family .Born in Gowanda Dec. 8, 1933 to Albert and Amelia (Wagenblatt) Peters.Carol married Richard F. Orth on Feb. 14, 1953 at the St. Joseph’s RC Church Gowanda. Richard survives.Carol retired from JN Adam Developmental Center; at the time of her retirement she was a Senior Account Clerk. Carol had over 32 years employment with NY State.Surviving besides her husband Richard of nearly 66 years are her children; Allan (Penny) Orth of Erie, Pa, Donna (Dale) Stevens of Adams Center, NY, Michael (Colleen) Orth of Lakeview, NY and Anne (Keith) McCormack of Greer, S.C. Grandchildren; Eric Orth, Jennifer Stevens, Samantha, Casey and Bridget Orth and Joshua McCormack. Six great grandchildren also survive along with 2 sisters; Ruth (late Nelson) Palmer of South Dayton, Mary (late Dave) Maitland of Perrysburg, nieces and nephews also survive .Besides her parents Carol was preceded in death by two sisters Edna (late Frank) Lesefske, and Viola (late Jack) Howard, two brothers Alfred and Kenneth Peters.Friends may call Sunday at the SCHINDLER FUN-ERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday Jan. 14, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph’s RC Church East Main St. Gowanda (please assemble at church).If desired, memorials to WNY Alzheimer’s Association c/o 225 North Michigan Ave Chicago, ILL. 60601.
