Pierce James Elvis Blodgett

Pierce James Elvis Blodgett, 23, Passed away on June 30, 2019 in Fredonia, N.Y.

Pierce was born at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, N.Y. on Jan. 8, 1996. He Attened Central Christian Academy and Fredonia Middle and High School.

Pierce was the beloved son of MaryGrace Siracuse of Fredonia and David Blodgett of Sheridan. He is survived by his loving brother; Jackson Blodgett of Sheridan, his maternal grandmother; Marilyn Siracuse Richmond of Fredonia, uncles; Tom and David (Kelly) Siracuse both of Rochester, NY, uncle; Donald Blodgett of Rochester, Michigan, aunt; Deborah Blodgett of Dunkirk, NY and many cousins.

Pierce was predeceased by his maternal grandfather; Salvatore Siracuse of Fredonia, fraternal grandparents; Donald and Lucille Blodgett of Sheridan, and stepgrandfather; Michael Richmond of Fredonia.

Pierce was a charismatic personality. He readily shared his good nature and kindness with his many friends and he made new friends with ease due to his polite and well-spoken conversation. An accomplished guitar player, Pierce enjoyed making music with his father and brother, Jack, and entertaining his friends; he also shared his father’s passion for vintage cars. His love of reading was apparent in the profound letters he wrote. Pierce was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Pierce struggled with drug addiction for several years, bravely committing to detox and rehabilitation numerous times. He recently graduated from City of Dunkirk Drug Treatment Court after many months of successful sobriety and completed the rehabilition program at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilition Center in Rochester N.Y.

Pierce’s Family is grateful for the rehabilitation received from the Salvation Army ARC., Lee Ann Lazarony, Dunkirk Drug Treatment Coordinator and the support of Judge David Prince. Despite Pierce’s repeated efforts to remain off opioids, he succumbed to his addiction.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church in Dunkirk, N.Y Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 10 a.m. Donations can be made in Pierce’s name to the Nar-Anon Fredonia Chapter through the Unitarian Universalist Church of Northern Chautauqua PO Box 11 Fredonia, N.Y. 14063.
