DUNKIRK – Peter J. Moldenhauer II, 53, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, at home.
Pete was born Aug. 11, 1968, in Dunkirk, N.Y., a son to Peter and Barbara (Wilkosz) Moldenhauer.
He attended and was a graduate of Fredonia Central School class of 1986. Following high school, Pete went on to college and earned an associate degree from SUNY College of Technology at Alfred. He had been employed with local businesses in the area as a maintenance technician.
When time permitted, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and ATV riding. Pete also enjoyed cooking, having a vegetable garden, and loved to restore vehicles. He had always been a talented mechanic, being able to repair most anything and skilled in making home improvements. He was genuinely a creative soul.
But most of all, he enjoyed the times spent with family and friends.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Tristan Moldenhauer; his loving companion for over 20 years, Elaine Winkelman; his beloved parents, Peter and Barbara Moldenhauer; sister, Heidi (Lane Milliman) Moldenhauer; cherished niece, Merry Milliman and nephew, Daniel Milliman; maternal grandmother, Josephine Wilkosz; and his faithful canine companions, Linus and Pepper. Several aunts and uncles, along with many cousins, further survive.
Peter was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Otto and Evelyn Moldenhauer and his maternal grandfather, Edward Wilkosz.
Per Pete’s wishes, all services will be held privately.
In honor of Pete, memorial contributions may be made to the Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department, 2800 Rt. 20, Sheridan, NY, 14135 or to the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, 7540 N. Gale Street, Westfield, NY 14787.
Funeral services are being cared for and provided by the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Avenue, Brocton, NY 14716.
