Linda M. Corbin

She was born March 31, 1948 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Richard C. and Sheila (Lewis) Linda received her GED from Lakeshore Central School in 1969 and her Nurses Aid Certification in 1970. In 1975 she graduated from Jamestown Vocational School and received her LPN in Nursing. Linda attended night classes in 1985 at SUNY Fredonia as she continued to work towards getting her RN degree. In 1993, Linda graduated from Trocaire College with honors and an associate degree in nursing. She was a volunteer for the Eden Emergency Squad from 1970 to 1978.

Linda worked many different jobs in her life. The best job she had was becoming an RN and started working at Brooks Memorial Hospital in 1975 as a LPN. She loved taking care of her patients and their family and working alongside of the great group of people. Brooks Memorial Hospital became her second family. She retired after 38 years of service in 2013.

Survivors include her son, James M. Corbin Jr.; daughter, Tammy L. (Dale) Stresing; siblings, Norma (Joe) Thurber, Richard W. Sickau, James (Lori) Sickau, Paula Sickau. William (Cheryl) Sickau, and John (Barbie) Sickau; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Also survived by her loving and protective canine companions, Buddy and Odie.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert J. “Bo” Corbin; sister, Sally Ann Sickau; in-laws, Phyliss and Manley Corbin.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
