Edward Arthur Begier, 77, of Stillwater, N.Y., passed away on July 18, 2024 following a brief illness. He was born to the late Arthur E. and Mary (Bialaszewski) Begier in Dunkirk, N.Y. on Aug. 9, 1946. Edward attended Cardinal Mindszenty High School, graduating at 16 and began serving in the U.S. Navy at 17. He was a proud submariner and a “plank holder” on the USS Simon Bolivar (SSBN-641) and also served in the New York Army National Guard. He worked for the State of New York as a supervisory security guard at the New York State Capitol complex and retired in 2001. He was a ...
