Voting rules do not apply to everyone
An article in the OBSERVER recently was headlined, “Senator ‘Borrello’s election bill voted down.”
In the article, it noted Borrello’s voter registration integrity act will not proceed to the state Senate floor. The proposal, it said, would have required first time voter registration applications to include a birth certificate establishing U.S. citizenship, a valid U.S. passport, a certificate of naturalization of citizenship or any other documentation the state Board of Elections determines establishes U.S. citizenship.
Current law does not require proof of U.S. citizenship for new voter registration. Boards of Election require applicants for voter registration to provide a driver’s license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number, but neither number proves U.S. citizenship because a driver’s license can be issued to illegal immigrants and Social Security numbers are available to non-citizen aliens who are in the United States with a green card.
There is no proof of United States citizenship when you arrive for a first-time registration. For the good of this country and those valid citizens of this country, it is not fair or legal for those politicians in the Democratic ranks to show their pro-feelings for not only those who enter this country illegally and are treated the same as valid citizens, and also showing pro feelings for criminals as well.
Wake up those politicians for the good of this country forever. Those politicians constantly show no remorse for those legal citizens of this country — only for those who cross our borders illegally. Our forefathers came here legally; were checked for health and the well-being for the new citizens. Why are the some being treated the same by those politicians?
We are being short-changed by these liberal politicians and it is time to vote them all out of office and bring back common sense back to our country. We as a country cannot tolerate this in the future.
