Retrospective

Thirty years ago — 1990

Area vocalists Laurie Tramuta and Daniel L. Bromsted were featured soloists in the June 8 concert given by the Buffalo Choral Arts Society in Rockwell Hall at the Buffalo State Performing Arts Center. They performed various selections from the Broadway musicals “Phantom of the Opera” and “Les Miserables.”

Forty years ago — 1980

Student of the Week is Patti Muldowney, a senior at Dunkirk High School. She has held the class offices of president, secretary and treasurer. Patti was one of the first girls to complete a season on the boys’ varsity track team and was the first girl to earn a letter in boys varsity cross-country at DHS. A 3-1-3 student at Fredonia State University College, she plans to continue her studies in public relations there in the fall.

Fifty years ago — 1970

New York Electric & Gas Corp. plans to sell a storeroom and a garage building on a one-quarter acre of land on Main Street in Silver Creek to A.J. Petri for $22,000.
