Thirty years ago — 1991

Ken Sikorski of Dunkirk has been named Person of the Year by Dunkirk Moose Lodge 89 for his contributions to the community. He was especially recognized for his work on the creative playground in Dunkirk. During a class enrollment, Mr. Sikorski received an engraved plaque from Calvin Dean, lodge governor.

Forty years ago — 1981

Seventeen-year-old Janet Hall, daughter of Mrs. Martha Hall of Route 39, Perrysburg is the Student of the Week at Forestville Central School. A senior, she is a four-year member of the high school band and a member and current vice president of the National Honor Society. Janet is currently enrolled in the 3-1-3 Academic Program at Fredonia State. She plans to further her education in political science or sociology.

Fifty years ago — 1971

The School 5 PTA has voted to reorganize as a Parents’ Club.

The Rev. David G. Griffin has been appointed a new assistant pastor at Holy Trinity Church in Dunkirk.
