Testimony from Dunkirk resident and St. Hyacinth Church parishioner Lillian Halasinski that she was cured of diabetic neuropathy through the divine intercession of a Polish nun who died in 1899 is being cited as the chief reason Pope John Paul II has decided to beatify the nun. That nun is Mother Mary Angela Truszkowska, foundress of the Felician sisters. Mrs. Halasinski, who is 79, testified that she was instantaneously healed on Jan. 4, 1984 when severe pain and swelling of her left leg disappeared.
