10th annual St. Patrick’s Dash is on Saturday

Chautauqua Striders will host the 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Dash on Saturday, March 16. The event is sponsored by Jamestown Cycle Shop, Northwest Bank, Lena’s Pizza, Taco Hut, The Trophy House, Chautauqua Patron’s Insurance, and IBEW Local Union 106.

The Northwest Arena will host the registration and post-event awards. The start and finish of the three mile course is along West Third Street between Jefferson and Lafayette Streets. “The Dash” is the second race is the 2019 UPMC Chautauqua Runner of the Year Series.

Registration is $25 per person and includes a long sleeve shirt if registration is received by Monday, March 11. Day of Dash registration from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at Northwest Arena for $30.

Vineyards Golf Course to form new golf league

A new women’s golf league is in the process of being organized at the Vineyards Golf Course. Any teams interested in playing please call Pam Allessi at 680-2076 for more information.

Utility League is reorganizing to Tuesday nights

The former Monday Night Utility League at Hillview, of two years ago, is reorganizing. This year it will be at Hillview on Tuesday nights. Currently there are 18 former league members that have committed to this year. The league will continue with a treasurer, scorekeeper and food. There are openings for new members. Women’s Doubles bowling tourney scheduled

The Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association has scheduled its fourth annual Women’s Doubles Handicap Tournament, to be held at Chick’s Lanes in Angola. Shifts will be scheduled on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The tournament is certified through USBC and is open to all women who are members of the DLBA. Entry forms will be available at Chick’s Lanes, Lucky Lanes, K&L Lanes and Hanover Lanes. 20th annual Crouse 5K Challenge set for May 19

GOWANDA — Sponsored by the Gowanda Boosters Club, the 20th annual Crouse 5K Challenge will take place Sunday, May 19 at the Gowanda American Legion, 100 Legion Drive. The 5K challenge is at 4 p.m. and the 1/2 Mile Fun Run is at 5 p.m.

This milestone event will be followed by a post-race party with music, refreshments, prizes. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third-place finishers as well as overall among the age groups. Proceeds benefit the Dennis Crouse Sr. Scholarship and Gowanda Boosters Club’s efforts to support student opportunities in the Gowanda Central School District.

The 5K costs $15 (A special $10 student rate does not include a shirt) and the Half-Mile Fun Run costs $5.
