Gowanda beats Forestville, 3-0

FORESTVILLE — The Gowanda Panthers were able to grab a win on Thursday, defeating the Forestville Hornets in three sets, 25-20, 25-15, 25-15.

Gowanda was led by Summer Allen with 21 assists and Olivia Ackley with two kills and seven digs. Miya Scanlon added seven kills and five aces for the winners.

For Forestville, Rachael Goodrich led the team with four kills and three aces while Rhianna Nasal added 12 assists and three kills. Ashley Forbes pitched in three aces in the loss.

Gowanda will play again on Tuesday against Silver Creek while Forestville (4-11) will be back in action tonight against Cassadaga Valley.

Silver Creek 3, Dunkirk 0

SILVER CREEK — Silver Creek hosted Dunkirk in Section VI volleyball, at Silver Creek high school on Thursday. The Black Knights had a successful evening as they took care of the Marauders in three sets 25-17, 25-12, 25-16.

The Black Knights were led by Kiera Brennan with eight kills and five digs, Libby Lawton with four kills and seven digs, and Julia Hill with 12 assists and three aces.

The Marauders were powered by Amari Carter with eight hits and five blocks, and Nadara Odell with three kills.

Silver Creek improved to 5-7 in the league and 6-7 overall, they will play Gowanda on Tuesday.

North Collins 3, Brocton/Westfield 0

The North Collins Eagles volleyball team picked up another win during their great season on Thursday, defeating Brocton/Westfield in three sets on their homecoming, 25-11, 25-22, 25-9.

Brocton/Westfield was led by Cheyanna Rivera with three kills and one block while Sophia Demarco had two kills and two blocks.

North Collins was led by Baylee Ramano with five kills and five aces while MaKenna Williams added six kills and seven assists. Michaela Rice racked up five kills to go along with ten assists.

Brocton/Westfield will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Cassadaga Valley in Brocton. North Collins (13-1) will play at Dunkirk on Tuesday.
