Forestville wins consolation game over Sherman on West’s late three, 57-54

WESTFIELD — Javier West’s game-winning 3-pointer lifted Forestville to victory over Sherman, 57-54, in the consolation game of the Westfield Winter Classic on Saturday night at Westfield Academy.

West led Forestville (1-1) with 26 points, along with six rebounds, five steals and three assists. Luke Szumigala had a game-high 14 rebounds. West made the All-Tournament Team for Forestville.

Sherman (0-2) was led by John Swabik with 18 points and eight rebounds. Swabik made the All-Tournament team for Sherman. Also making the All-Tournament team were Westfield’s Mike Johnson, Chautauqua Lake’s Zach Fischer and Tournament MVP Nate Adams of Chautauqua Lake.
