Silver Creek track and field team finds success at Sectional Championships this weekend
Black Knights shine at Sectionals
WILLIAMSVILLE — The Black Knights had a very successful showing at the Section VI Track and Field Championships on Saturday, several athletes set personal records and earned sectional patches.
In the field events, Chandler Eggleston threw the discus a distance of 140’6″ — which was a four foot personal record — Eggleston’s throw claimed him fourth place and a green sectional patch. Alina Beadle optioned to compete at the track meet opposed to the All-County Chorus concert and made it worthwhile by setting a personal record in shot put. Beadle had a personal record shot of 35′, which was good enough to earn third place and a white sectional patch.
In the track events, Silver Creek’s 4×400 meter relay team of Emma Romanik, Jaylah Cossin, Juliana Flick and Kylie Procknal earned fifth place. Cossin, Romanik and Procknal were also apart of the 4×100 meter relay along with Forestville teammate Sylvea Cleary — the team ran ran a 52.22 in the finals, earning them seventh place.
“These kids laid it all out there today,” commented Silver Creek Coach Amy Seiders. “This has been a really great season for the team. I can’t wait until the 2019-20 indoor season!”
