WESTFIELD — The Westfield/Brocton Lady Wolverines topped the Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds, 2-0, in a Section VI CCAA Central girls soccer game in Westfield, on Thursday. The Lady Wolverines and Lady T’birds were tied headed into the second half, until a Katie Bodenmiller goal broke the tie and helped power Westfield/Brocton to their seventh straight win to start the season.

Bodenmiller’s goal was assisted by Sheala Barresi in the eighth minute of the second half. Barresi later found Makena Barresi for the insurance to goal and gave the Lady Wolverines a 2-0 lead. Angel Busch was stellar in net as she made 12 saves in the shutout performance. The Lady Wolverines back defensive line also played a big role in the victory as Mary Conklin, Makartnee Mortimer, Heather and Laura Johnston held it together in the shutout.

The Lady Wolverines (7-0) are back in action on Tuesday in Silver Creek and Chautauqua Lake (3-3, 1-2) hosts Pine Valley on Saturday.
