NCCYHA Steelers win Rock ‘n Roll Cup
CLEVELAND — The NCCYHA Steelers 12U Travel Team brought home the Championship Cup from this past weekend from the Rock and Roll Cup in Cleveland, OH. The team went 3-0-1 on the weekend in some on-the-edge-of-your-seat hockey games. Receiving hat trick awards from the weekend were Brady Crawford and Isaac Williams, while Crawford won the Tournament MVP. In the championship game, the Steelers found themselves down two goals early. Crawford and Williams took care of that deficit, tying the game up by the end of the second period. Down a goal in the third period, the Steelers pulled their goalie and Crawford was able to tie the game up. No one scored in overtime so the championship came down to a shootout. Netting goals in the shootout were Crawford and Brody Himelein. The third shooter was not needed for the Steelers, as goalie Braiden Truby stone walled two of the three shooters for the Freemont Wolves.
