Cassadaga Valley students held a “clap out” for indoor track members Cervonte Thomas, left, and Rayven Sample Wednesday. Sample, Riley Auer (Maple Grove), Josh Walters (Randolph) and Ronan McDonald (Randolph) won the 1,600 meter relay at the Section VI state qualifier Feb. 23 at the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex at Houghton College. Thomas and Frewsburg’s Zach Heberlein will be alternates for the relay. The NYSPHSAA Championships will take place today through Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
