Westfield/Brocton, Falconer/Cassadaga Valley advance
ELLICOTTVILLE — No. 8 Westfield/Brocton (9-5) pulled off the upset on Monday night, claiming a 3-1 win over undefeated and No. 1 Ellicottville (14-1) in Section VI Class C quarterfinal action.
Carly Wilson got the visitors on the board in the ninth minute, and Westfield/Brocton made it 2-0 after Sheala Barresi tallied in the 27th minute.
Emilee Ruiz would get Ellicottville on the board with a pass from Hayly Fredrickson three minutes into the second half, but Barresi would earn her second of the night with six minutes left to play.
Angel Busch would stop four shots in the win and Jenna Hadley three for Ellicottville.
The Wolverines will meet No. 5 Chautauqua Lake on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
GOLDEN COUGARS PREVAIL
SILVER CREEK — No. 5 Falconer/Cassadaga Valley (7-8) was a 3-1 winner over No. 4 Fredonia (6-5-2) in Class B-2 quarterfinal action.
Kayla Lynn got the Golden Cougars on the board in the 26th minute on a corner kick, while Ali Davis earned Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s second tally on a free kick with 15 minutes remaining in the first half.
Tess Spangenburg added the third for the winners with one minute remaining, and Grace Lundmark made 10 saves.
Kinnan Finnegan led Fredonia in net.
The Golden Cougars will travel to meet No. 1 Southwestern at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
DONATO’S OT GOAL LIFTS T’BIRDS
HOLLAND — No. 5 Chautauqua Lake (8-4) was a 3-1 winner over No. 4 Holland (7-5) in Class C quarterfinal play.
Taylor Donato notched the overtime winner in the eighth minute on a pass by Emma Lindsey, sealing the win for the Thunderbirds.

Calla Zarpentine got the visitors on the board midway through the second half on a pass by Kylie Keefe, and Ava Linder grabbed the tying goal for Holland five minutes later.
Hailey Roush made five saves in the win.
The Thunderbirds meet No. 8 Westfield Brocton on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
SALAMANCA FALLS
PORTVILLE — No. 3 Portville (9-3) was a 4-2 winner over No. 6 Salamanca (6-4-1) in Class C quarterfinal action.
Teagan Kosinski had two goals in the win, while Mallory Welty an Mia Welty each had a goal and an assist.
Kendall Artlip also picked up an assist for the winners, while Faith Capito made six saves.
Ryleigh John and Emma Brown scored for Salamanca while Hayli Wilson and Mariah Downey had assists.
Makenzie Oakes stopped four shots for the Warriors.
Portville meets No. 2 Frewsburg at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
BEARS ROLL
JAMESTOWN — No. 2 Frewsburg (14-0) was a 5-1 winner over No. 7 Randolph (6-4-1) in Class C quarterfinal girls soccer action at Strider Field.
Samantha Annis continued her hot streak for the Bears, scoring a pair of first-half goals while Raena Bird finished with a goal and an assist.
Tyra Clark and Alexandra Hultberg also found the back of the net, while Madison Voty made 11 saves in the win.
Aubrey Hogan converted on an indirect free kick by Ashley Crouse with two minutes remaining in the first half for Randolph’s goal.
The Bears will meet No. 3 Portville at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
