Scanlan, Kota lead Gowanda past Randolph

GOWANDA — Miya Scanlan had 12 kills and Zoey Kota had 21 assists as Gowanda opened its Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association league schedule with a 15-25, 25-12, 16-25, 25-20, 25-23 victory over Randolph.

The Panthers improved to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Gowanda’s jayvee won, 2-1.

NORTH COLLINS SWEEPS T’WOLVES

NORTH COLLINS — North Collins opened its season with a three-game sweep of Cattaraugus-Little Valley.

Deanne Wilson had 12 kills and Mckenna Williams had 21 assists for the Eagles (1-0).

TRIMS HORNETS

SALAMANCA — Jillian Rea had six aces, four kills and six assists as Salamanca outlasted Forestville, 16-25, 25-17, 13-25, 25-16, 25-17.

Makayla Burch had three aces, two kills, five assists and two blocks; Jaedan Hubbard had four aces, two kills, two assists and a block; Karina Crouse and Morgan Maybee had five kills apiece; and Madison Hoag had four aces for the Warriors (1-0).

RED RAIDERS

WIN THREE

Hannah Grey had 24 assists and two aces as Jamestown swept Southwestern, 25-20, 25-19, 26-24.

Kylie O’Brien had four aces and six kills while Claire Pumford had four kills and five digs for the Red Raiders.

Madeleine DuBois had five aces and seven kills; Anna Rauh had four kills and six blocks; Lauren Cotter had four kills, four blocks and a dig; and Megan Cotter had three aces, two kills and four blocks.

FALCONER

CLAIMS SECOND

FALCONER — Serena Camarata had 18 assists and three aces to lead Falconer to a 25-5, 25-12, 25-16 sweep of Dunkirk.

Ashton Beckerink had 16 digs and seven aces while Rachael Harper added 11 kills and two blocks for the Golden Falcons (2-0, 1-0). Ava Fenton chipped in seven aces and six digs, and Emily Melquist had five kills and six digs in the win.

The Marauders fell to 0-1 overall and in the league.
