Gullo finishes seventh at Chautauqua GC

CHAUTAUQUA — It was a windy day by the lake as the Jamestown Community College golf team hosted its annual invitational at the par-72 Chautauqua Golf Club on Friday afternoon.

“Mother Nature was not kind for the student-athletes today,” said interim head coach George Sisson. “The wind made it difficult to get the shots we wanted but that’s golf in New York this time of year. For getting the rain that we got last evening, the course held up in that aspect which I was happy to see.”

Sophomore Anthony Gullo (Jamestown/Jamestown) led the Jayhawk golfers on the course, finishing tied for seventh place with a score of 89. Gullo shot par on six holes, battling the gusts of wind throughout the day.

Freshman David Allen (Jamestown/Falconer) continues to get better throughout the season, shooting a 95 to finish tied for 12th. Allen shot par on six holes on the day.

Freshman Josh Brown (Randolph/Randolph) rounds out the Jayhawk golfers, finishing 20th with a score of 115. Brown parred one hole on the afternoon.

The Jayhawks will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Lockport tomorrow for the Niagara County CC Invitational at Willowbrook Golf Club.
