The New York Volleyball Coaches Association recently announced their all-state teams and six local girls were recognized in Class D.
Chautauqua Lake junior setter Jenna Waters, the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Player of the Year, was named to the Second Team. Waters led the Thunderbirds in serves received (459) and digs (486); was second in aces (61); and third in service points (224).
Waters’ sophomore teammate Ava Olson was named to the Fourth Team. Olson led the Thunderbirds in aces (96) and service points (335); was second in assists (307), digs (261) and serves received (209); and third in kills (159).
Maple Grove junior setter Erin Mansfield was joined by Randolph sophomore outside hitter Eve Adams, Chautauqua Lake senior middle hitter Lily Woodis and North Collins senior setter/outside hitter/middle hitter Michaela Rice on the Fifth Team.
Mansfield led the Red Dragons in assists (432), aces (82), service points (136) and digs (155). Adams led the Cardinals in kills (198) and aces (60); and was second in digs (101). Woodis led the Thunderbirds in kills (178) and blocks (50); was second in service points (231); and third in aces (47) and assists (65). Rice led the Eagles in kills (157) and aces (49.

In Class C, Portville senior setter Kylie Blessing and sophomore middle hitter Olivia Cook were named to the First Team. Eden senior outside hitter Emalee Ballou and Portville junior outside hitter Tory Unverdorben were named to the Second Team. Eden sophomore setter Ashley Ballou was named to the Third Team. Alden senior outside hitter Jenna Kersten was named to the Fourth Team.
In Class B, Springville junior outside hitter Ella Wittman was named to the Third Team, Olean senior outside hitter Adele Dwalebee was named to the Fourth Team and Depew sophomore outside hitter Mya Bush was named to the Fifth Team.
Niagara Wheatfield senior middle hitter Elanna Lysiak was named to the Class A First Team. Kelsey Tylec, a senior outside hitter/setter from Niagara Wheatfield, and Lauren Hubert, a junior outside hitter/setter from Sweet Home, were named to the Second Team. Grand Island senior outside hitter Tereska Sorel was named to the Fourth Team.
In Class AA, Frontier senior setter Haley Gerken was named to the Second Team, Frontier freshman outside hitter Marin Collins was named to the Third Team, and Lancaster sophomore setter April Jakubowski was named to the Fourth Team along with Clarence senior outside hitter Taylor Denall.
